Enjoying Code Geass R2? I’m sure you are. I know I am… but now there’s this little bit of info that really irks me. See how… slightly odd Geass has been going? I mean it’s GOOD, Great, AMAZING but “some” people would say not perfect.

If you’re one of those people, well you’re right. Code Geass R2 actually went horribly wrong according to an interview Celiss Galvea did with Taniguchi (The Director of Code Geass and Code Geass R2).

In fact, things went horribly wrong as far back as Season 1. You know it sorta irks me that the already AWESOME anime could’ve been 10 times better. Some of the stuff that Taniguchi mentions would’ve ROCKED.

  I have an opinion as to why Sunrise might have changed the timeslot for Code Geass R2. It has more to do with the fact that Sunrise wasn’t able to keep the original Saturday evening timeslot for Gundam 00. The Sunday 5PM timeslot was the only available timeslot for it. However, it was available as a one year commitment. This means that Sunrise wouldn’t have to delay the release the Gundam 00 the second season for the Fall schedule. As a consequence, Sunrise needed another anime to take over the Spring 5PM timeslot in order to gurantee Gundam 00 Fall timeslot. Since there were no other anime that was ready to assume the Spring 5PM timeslot, it was decided that Code Geass R2 would fill this new schedule until Gumdam 00 was ready. This means that changes had to be made in order to fullfill the programing requirements.

  Sunrise is well aware of the success of Code Geass and its fans. They would not have changed its original latenight timeslot unless it had something to do with securing a spot for their Gundam franchise, which they would go out of their way to ensure that it’s boardcast on time without delay. Code Geass became an unfortunate victim of the Gundam political machine. Especially if it is a very successful Gundam series. Had Gundam retained its Satuday night timeslot, there would not have been a need to change Code Geass latenight timeslot. Besides, a 5PM evening timeslot on a Sunday doesn’t attract a very large audience as opposed to 8PM to 9PM evening programing timeslot.

  This is why I believe that there might be a new Code Geass that takes place after Stage 25 of Season 1. We might as well see how the original plans for that version, even if it still leads up to the Zero Requiem.

  There were other users of the Geass in the past. But none of them took their power to the extreme like Lelouch did. Most of them would have worked in secret, like Emperior Charles and Marianne. What I would like to know is how C.C. came to know Marianne and why she gave her a Geass power.

  Even if the Black Knights turned on Lelouch, its likely that there might have been an understanding between them. If any of the Black Knights had a Geass power, like Lelouch, it would corrupt them. It wasn’t the Geass that privided the victories for the Black Knights. It was Lelouch’s intellect because without it, the Black Knights was doomed to fail.

  If the production staff wanted to expand on Lelouch’s storyline, they would do so. There isn’t a lack of stories that they could produce about Lelouch and the other characters. Tanigushi knows this for a fact. Nothing is ever set in stone, when it comes to the storyline. Sunrise has a potential hit on their hands with Code Geass/Lelouch. The fact that people still talk about this series is proof that. As a result, Sunrise might allow Tanigushi to resume the production of his original plans for Code Geass R2 and beyond.
