The flood of new anime announcements just keep on coming. Joining the pack of “greenlit” anime series is an adaption of the Shounen Sci-fi manga “Alive: The Final Evolution”, created by Tadashi Kawashima and Adachitoka.
The story follows the story of a boy named Taisuke. Living a normal life with his childhood friend Megumi and his older older sister (who is a nurse), that is until a virus breaks out and starts making people kill themselves.
Taisuke survives and gains a special ability. With the dissappearance of his friends, Taisuke sets out to find them. He instead encounters other survivers of the virus outbreaks who have survived like him and have special abilities. Taisuke and the others peice together the mysteries behind the virus and why they were spared.
Well I gotta Admit, the story does seem a bit interesting. Of course, a big point of such series is how well defined the characters. I myself haven’t read the manga, although Four volumes HAVE been released by Del Rey Manga in the US. Lets see how this anime turns out. It’s been a while since we’ve had a nice sci-fi shounen anime.

Ever heard of Kurozuka? Mein either. But from what I see of the manga covers, it looks pretty darn kickass. Said manga which “adapts Baku Yumemakura’s supernatural romance novel about a 12th-century man named Minamoto no Yoshitsune (Kurou)” is getting it’s own anime.
The story revolves on this Kurou dude. Kurou flees into the mountains after losing to his brother Minamoto no Yoritomo – the first Shogun to rule all of Japan. History records that he committed suicide, but instead, Kurou meets a strange, beautiful woman named Kuromitsu in her mountain hermitage. Eventually, Kurou falls in love with Kuromitsu, but then realizes she conceals a dark secret. He learns that he is unable to die and continues to live for a thousand years as Japan evolves into a future society.
Sounds decent enough right? Well I’ll definitely be giving it a look. This anime is said to air right after the “Ultraviolet Anime” (Yeah, based on that Milla Jovovich movie). The Manga is around 10 volumes long, so it should atleast have a complete story, and not be another “incomplete” anime like recent things we’ve seen (Claymore, Hatenkou Yugi).
