We haven’t heard a peep about Hellsing since we heard about the OVA series going to madhouse ages ago. I myself am not a frequent reader of the manga, as I prefer to see the animated version first. But that’s me, legions of Hellsing fans are either really happy or extremely pissed off because the manga has finally reached it’s end.

The manga’s final chapter was published the November issue of Young King Ours. So its not like… out yet XD

Come November, we’ll see the conclusion to the epic Vampire story.

Kouta Hirano, mangaka of hellsing, is far from taking breaks and taking it easy now. He’s actually already got a new series planned for next year. Amazing person really!

Didn’t like the past few Hellsing OVAs? Well good news for you. It seems that from the next OVA (Number 5) the Hellsing Ultimate OVA series will now be handeled and produced by Madhouse (The animation studio behind stuff like Death Note, Trigun, Claymore e.t.c).

While Satelight have lost rights to the series, I’m sure everyone agrees that Hellsing is in able hands. How much of a difference this will make on the art and overall animation is yet to be seen.

Personally, I’m glad. Satelight were doing some weird things with Hellsing since the 3rd OVA. I mean… COMMEDY in a horror+gore+slasher like Hellsing? PLEASE NO! >_>

Here’s hoping Madhouse continue to provide the awesome animation and even keep the dark, extremely serious tone and stay true to the manga this time.
