Square Enix’s Monthly GFantasy magazine, has, in it’s December issue announced that popular manga Pandora Hearts (by Mochizuki Jun) is going to be getting an anime Adaption. The staff, Animation studio and more have been mentioned as well.

Pandora Hearts tells the tale of Oz Bezarius. Heir to one of the duke houses, Oz has just turned 15. Thus the rich and carefree life of Oz is put to a sudden halt on his “coming of age” ceremony…. He’s taken prisoner and thrown into a Prison known only as the “Abyss”. Soon after, he is saved by a “chain” known as Alice and a Blood stained Black rabit.

Of course, The questions in the story are: “Why was he cast into Abyss? How does Alice factor into it all? and what does the organization known as “Pandora” want with him?”

The director will be Kato Takao, whose previous works include Busou Renkin and To love Ru (Okay… I have a bad feeling about this… XD).

The Series Organizer will be Sekijima Mayori of Natsume Yuujinchou and Skip Beat! fame.

The character designers will be Kojima Chizuru (Kyou no Go no Ni), Yamaoka Shin-ichi (The Third – Aoi Hitomi no Shoujo, Heroic Age).

Aaand… the Animation Studio will be none other than XEBEC (There’s that’s bad feeling again….)

In all fairness, XEBEC did decently well with Mnemosyne and Heroic Age, but I just can’t remove the bad taste of Gundam Seed Destiny from my mouth. Lets hope this adapation is more on the lines of the former titles and not so much the latter.
