Score: B+

The craziest and one of the best harems ever has returned! This show truly never prepares you for how crazy it can get. You have to mentally brace yourself for anything. And this one didn’t disappoint. It was pure craziness from the start and I’m sure this whole season will be a crazy one as evidenced by the new girlfriends.

That director!

God this show just loves going full comedy. What good has it done for me to try and not spoil myself too much on future girlfriends? None. It’s done nothing for me! The opening sequence showed off the new girlfriends and then they have a sequence clearly set further in time with all the girlfriends from this season! This show just loves messing with the audience. And I do love that. But it’s just an hilarious moment of “who are you people!?” Also is this ok? Is a show allowed to do this? Interviewing characters we haven’t even met yet!? Apparently this show can do whatever it wants!

Sato Hikaru! You will pay for this!

Welcome to the new girlfriend!

Anyways so about the first episode! It really is very much Rentaro to consider saving someone from getting killed as a minor thing! No wonder his uncle thinks the world of him. Saved the guy from getting into an isekai! I suppose he would be one of the parents that would be completely down with Rentaro hooking up with his daughter and probably not mind that he has 100 girlfriends by the end.

Rentaro…you are going to have 100 girlfriends. The series has to be willing to come up with any number of crazy scenarios just so there isn’t that much overlap between multiple girls! A cousin ship that’s in middle school? You bet that’s ok! Besides the show already has Shizuka and Kusuri so we know loli is totally fine here! And Kurumi is also in middle school. Admittedly Chiyo is certainly the youngest thus far, but nothing the show should have any problem rolling with!

This guy could be a problem…

Chiyo is cute though. Definitely have sympathies for her since her dad is over the top in terms of trying to hook her up with Rentaro. Thankfully they actually are soulmates. Would’ve been a nightmare otherwise. But it did nearly lead to a case of Rentaro actually considering rejecting the whole thing. I know the story pretty quickly stopped caring about the idea that those that fail to get together with their soulmates are doomed to unhappiness/death. But I’m surprised to see Rentaro risking that. But maybe that’s not unfair. Rentaro is a good natured person. He wouldn’t want anyone to get forced into a romance. And for a bit he let himself get caught up in the chains of social norms (which haven’t stopped him yet).

Yes to whatever she wants!

The win and the solution came thanks to Chiyo though. In the end she had to embrace her own feelings and put forward an emotional confession to reach Rentaro. It was a very cute confession and there’s no way to face her in that moment and not completely go ahead with it! Was probably a good thing to get her glasses back on though. Tough for her to make a coherent confession while freaking out. And I just appreciate that what really mattered to her was that Rentaro understood. He could see through her and touch on the things that she needed to hear the most.

Universe’s greatest boyfriend can’t be stopped!

It’s 100 Girlfriends! There’s almost not much to say really. It was cute, funny, and over the top. While the opening sequence was all kinds of “what!?” it did a good job of reintroducing the cast. With the size of the cast there’s only so much time for everyone in the first place. This interview allowed all the girls to express who they are and for Rentaro’s insane boyfriend skills to be shown off to the fullest. I’m still not sure on introducing the new girlfriends before their focus episodes…but I’m totally fine with crazy choices in this show.
