Score: B+

I’d say this was one of the better episodes of the current arc. Pride has kind of moved on from the “I hate Cedric and that’s it” phase to actually doing other things. Just having her struggling to handle Tiara and bantering with the Queen was some of the best Pride moments we’ve had in a while. And now we’re heading into war and Battle Pride is ready to go. It was a nice touch to point back to when she went all out in season 1 since we’re probably going to see her doing so once again.

Need more of this girl

Glad that Tiara is coming along for this. She was the protagonist in the game version of this. It’s not like Tiara doesn’t have main heroine qualities. Pride is intending to keep her behind the lines which is perfectly valid. But I have to think something is going to come from this. There’s no real point to having Tiara push to come along only for her to sit back and wait for the battle to end. I don’t think she’s going to rush into danger…but danger might find her.

King Lance was clearly poisoned or cursed. It’s possible the person responsible is gone…but maybe they aren’t. In that case Tiara might get into a bit of a tough spot during all this. There’s a chance Cedric might be kept behind considering Pride’s orders for him to study and not necessarily preparing for war. We might get a rare bit of focus on Tiara and see her show off more of her main heroine qualities beyond just covering for Pride’s horrifying cursed cooking. It was fun of course seeing her melt Pride with her puppy dog eyes, but I do hope there’s a payoff here.

This country is hax

This episode just hammers home how utterly broken Freesia is. This version is undoubtedly more dangerous than the one Evil Pride had. She hasn’t driven away or killed as many people in the country after all! This nation has a teleporter, magical healer, and two Princesses who are actually broken. Though Pride’s OP nature is really the only one that everyone is probably aware of. Tiara hasn’t had to flex any skills that she presumably has outside of cooking. Having them on your side is huge and having them as an enemy is terrifying. I fully expect the war to go swimmingly since Pride is more than capable of handling herself. It will be fun regardless to see some fighting since the current season hasn’t had much reason for it until now.

At least the people love him

Long road for Cedric to gain respectability within the main cast, but he’s on the way. At the very least he’s already got the love and respect of his people. He calmed down a people who clearly were on the verge of panic at this point. His flaws remain, but at the very least he’s not such a sloppy prince that the people have been made aware of it. I do agree with Pride having him study since he’s got a long way to go before living up to his potential. But his love for his family and his country is certainly already there. Now Cedric just needs to polish up the rest. He’s never going to be Pride’s preferred love interest and that’s fine. There are too many of those in this show as it is!

Lance had one heck of a day!

This was definitely a solid set-up for what’s coming next. The alliance is finalized, troops are getting into position, and Lance has been cured of whatever madness that has been forced on him. Now we’ll see how Copelandii responds. So far we haven’t seen much from them. But this whole situation has to be going well against their plans which will create some good old chaos. Might even get a hint as to where the story is going beyond this season.
