Fairy Tail creator and magaka Hiro Mashima has finally made good on his promise for  news regarding the return of the Fairy Tail anime.

Issue Six of Weekly Shounen Magazine has revealed that Fairy Tail will be returning in April of 2014 (that’s just four months away!!!).

Most of the key members of the original series production return including Director Shinji Ishihira and writer Masashi Sogo. Interestingly Shinji Takeuchi (of Gintama fame) is taking over the character design for the anime production.

All the major seiyuu (voice actors) also make a return, and most notably Aya Hirano will be reprising her role as Lucy (something that a few fans, including myself wondered about). The other returning seiyuu are etsuya Kakihara, Rie Kugimiya, Yūichi Nakamura and Sayaka Ohara.

All in all, welcome news as Anime Evo and Setsuken’s favorite Shounen series will be making its return this very year. A great new years present indeed, and its not even new years yet!

We’ll keep you apprised of any further developments.
