The latest news regarding the eagerly anticipated and awaited “Little Busters!” Anime adaption is sure to cause certain anime fans to go into a state of deep otaku rage. The latest issue of Dengeki Visual Arts magazine has revealed that studio J.C. Staff will be producing the anime adaptation of Key’s PC Visual Novel, 「Little Busters!」.

Fans had long been awaiting news of an adaption, and it had largely been expected that Kyoto Animation (K-On!, Clannad) would be handling the adaption duties as they have in the past. The latest announcement, definitely dashes any hopes of another Key and Kyoto Animation collaboration.

The Staff  Responsible:

  • Executive Producer: Kawase Kohei (Accel World)
  • Director: Yamakawa Yoshiki (Kill Me Baby)
  • Series Composition: Shimada Michiru (Nanatsuiro Drops, Jewelpet Twinkle)
  • Character Designer: Iizuka Haruko (Tamayura – Hitotose, Inu X Boku SS)
  • Producer Company: Warner Entertainment Japan

Personally, we’re not too bothered by this news. J.C Staff has consistently upped their game lately, delivering a wealth of different titles, some of which are staff favorites (Toaru Majutsu no Index, Ano Natsu de matteru, Kimi To Boku). And frankly, it seems that the brotherhood shared between Key and Kyoani has long been lost, especially given that Jun Maeda’s Angel Beats! series was handeled by P.A Works. It’ll be interesting to see the new combination of J.C Staff and Key, however, and it remains to be seen if we can get the same Key magic we got from AIR, Clannad, and Kanon 2006.

What are your thoughts? Yay? Nay? Totally pissed that Kyoto Animation isn’t doing this series? Let us know in the comments below!
