After two seasons and a sister spinoff series, Toaru Majutsu no Index is now finally getting a Theatrical movie release.

Aaaaand…. Beyond that we really don’t know anything… Yet. The official site is pretty sparse on information right now. So we’re guessing it’ll be out sometime late 2012?

We can only be more excited for more Index related stuff, as the second season really left us wanting a lot more!

We also wonder if this is going to be an original movie? If its actually going to cover a part of the light novels and advance the story? Or is it going to be a Summary/recap movie. Hopefully its one of the former two choices and not the latter. What do you guys think about this little tidbit of news? Excited for a Toaru Majutsu No Index movie?

  Ooh cool! I loved the first and second seasons as well as the spin-off, even though I thought the first season was better, so this is interesting news!^^ I’m hoping that this movie will move the plot forward instead of being a recap movie. Thanks

  Agreed! I definitely enjoyed the first season a bit more. I’m hoping that the movie propels the popularity of the franchise further and we get an awesome third season! =D
