WHY didn’t I hear of this sooner?!!? According to the solicitation sheet for the fifth volume of the popular BL manga, Sekaiichi Hatsukoi we will get a special premium anime dvd that will be bundled with a limited edition of the manga. This special box will feature exclusive cover illustrations – both on the DVD jacket and the manga volume! This limited edition can be pre-ordered until January 5, 2011.

• Scriptwriter – Rika Nakase (Rocket Girls)
• Character Design – Yoko Kikuchi (TRC: Tokyo Revelations, Noir) Yoko-san is also illustrating the premium anime’s DVD jacket
• Production House – Studio DEEN
• The above mentioned have worked together previously on Junjou Romantica
• Voice cast – Konishi Katsuyuki and Kondou Takashi come back to re-do their roles as Takano Masamune and Onodera Ritsu (respectively) after the awesome awesome Drama CD’s. (Excuse me while I go have a party in my head over this)

In January, Ciel magazine had already announced that Sekaiichi Hatsukoi has a television anime series in the works however, there is no date given for when the series will start airing.

Onodera Ritsu is sick and tired of people always saying that he got his job thanks to his connections. He quits his job in his father’s company and starts work in Marukawa Shoten publishing company. (YEP! The same Marukawa Shoten from Junjou Romantica!) There’s just a teeeeen tiny itsy bitsy minor little problem. Poor guy got tossed into the SHOUJO MANGA department. And our poor hero has neither any interest nor experience in that particular area.

After a failed high school romance, Ritsu vowed to himself that he would never fall in love again and thus, working on sappy love stories is a bit beyond him. And then he finds out that the arrogant, tyrannical bully of a head editor…is ACTUALLY his former first love, Takano Masamune! How will Ritsu manage in such a situation?   the dvds in japan are way cooler than the ones here wish we had lots more on them.
