Opinions (A):
This was a pretty strong episode IMO. In the one episode where Ul was introduced, the character was easily likeable and the story heartwarming. Ul obviously thought of both Gray and Lyon as sons, and her motherly love and the bond between her and her students was nicely done, especially considering there was only about one episode to do it. The whole little tidbit about Ul’s friend saying she should find her own happiness and then reinforcing that point in the end was a nice touch. It was a pretty smart idea to keep the flashback short and sweet, because anything more than an episode would’ve seemed too much.
I definitely called the fact that Ul was the ice itself, but I’m sure everyone and their dog could see it coming XD. That said, its impressive that it still felt a bit strong, even with the fact that mostly everyone knew what was coming. Lyon turned out to be quite the twisted person too, with his obsession for surpassing Ul clearly going way past the normal bounds of what even an obsession can be. That said, no matter what Ul said, she is pretty much dead. It seems like Gray unleashed the ice Shell, and it will definitely be cool if he actually goes through with it. Then again… This is a shounen series, so I doubt Gray will be making his exit this early in the game. We’ll just have to see…
Next Episode:
Seems like Gray doesn’t really go through with using the Ice Shell magic attack, also seems like that weird guy in the mask is actually going to free Deliora anyway. Does someone smell another Natsu, Gray and Erza team attack coming? XD
