Manga covers

The flood of new anime announcements just keep on coming. Joining the pack of “greenlit” anime series is an adaption of the Shounen Sci-fi manga “Alive: The Final Evolution”, created by Tadashi Kawashima and Adachitoka.

The story follows the story of a boy named Taisuke. Living a normal life with his childhood friend Megumi and his older older sister (who is a nurse), that is until a virus breaks out and starts making people kill themselves.

Taisuke survives and gains a special ability. With the dissappearance of his friends, Taisuke sets out to find them. He instead encounters other survivers of the virus outbreaks who have survived like him and have special abilities. Taisuke and the others peice together the mysteries behind the virus and why they were spared.

Well I gotta Admit, the story does seem a bit interesting. Of course, a big point of such series is how well defined the characters. I myself haven’t read the manga, although Four volumes HAVE been released by Del Rey Manga in the US. Lets see how this anime turns out. It’s been a while since we’ve had a nice sci-fi shounen anime.
