Lucky Star

The trend of more popular series getting OVAs continues, and this time with the ever popular anime/manga franchise known as Lucky Star. Lucky Star is best termed as “Suzumiya Haruhi’s” little sister, as this series clearly has a deep following in both anime fans, and otaku culture in general.

So yeah, a new OVA has been greenlit for production. The June issue of Kadokawa Shoten‘s COMPTIQ magazine, which has been publishing the original Lucky Star manga, will ship on May 10 with more details on the OVA project.

Expect more Konata fun and games then!

Update:

More Info, now on the release date and Animation Studio. Apparently Luck Star will be airing in the Summer, and will be animated by Kyoto Animation. Haruhi Season 2 fanboys start crying, because Haruhi Season 2 looks more or less like it won’t be making it this year…
